Shopping vs comfort eating

Personally, I need no excuse to go shopping. Had a great week? I deserve a treat! Had the worst day ever? I need a pick me up!Feel guilty about support mass production and exploitative labor conditions? Buy locally made, ethicially produced of course!

I love these hand-made pendants by Melbourne based designer Ellinor Mazza. Just the thing to end a great or dodgy week. And so much healthier than downing a tub of chocolate ice-cream in front of the telly. Thanks, Ellinor.

This is exactly what I need to get me through this weird transitional weather into Autumn.

These Stella Blanche frocks are made right here in Melbourne and are very limited edition. So be fast as they are sure to get snapped up by people like me!

The greatest love of all

Like all days of mass celebration, Valentine's Day can go either way. It can be a joyous occasion filled with open declarations of love complete with heart shaped chocolates and red roses.

Or it can be a depressing day of loneliness and despair while smug couples rub their happiness right in your face.

But we at Pussycat Black say: Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all... Celebrate Valentine's Day no matter what your Facebook relationship status. And if that means treating yourself to a great new frock and pendant. Then so be it.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner...

So if you want to give your loved one a hint,we suggest accidentally emailing this post to him/her.

Or simply treat yourself!

No pain, no gain

Do you remember the pain involved in getting your ears pierced with that crazy scary gun that shoots a permanent hole right through the skin of your ear lobe?

Boy, was it worth it. Because now you can wear these adorable handmade earrings by Jen Hall. A fabulous Feb fast reward to self, don't you agree?

Our new favourite cookbook

As much as I love my kindle, it will never be able to replace a beautiful cookbook full of yummy treats and inspiration.

It's fair to say that we are more than a little obsessed with fellow Melbournian, Julie Jansen's new cookbook, Apricots and Apron Strings. Check out Julie's website and you will soon see what we mean. Italian date and mascarpone tart? I'm there!

In store now.

Lucky

Not to brag or anything, but sometimes I just get lucky. Like today when I found out that this super cute frock is on sale and available not only in black, but white as well.

With Autumn just around the corner (sort of), I think this will be a fabulous transition piece with a few layers. Don't you agree?
